MORE ABOUT THE HISTORY...

In 1907, four business majors at New York University saw an opportunity to impact the lives of their fellow students. At the time, the best business school organization on campus was not open to many students, and Alexander Frank Makay, Alfred Moysello, Henry Albert Tienken, and Harold Valentine Jacobs were determined to start an inclusive fraternity for business majors—an organization that became Delta Sigma Pi.

From the beginning, Delta Sigma Pi's commitment to broad membership, scholarship, and service set it apart. Inspired by its values and mission, business students joined Delta Sigma Pi in large numbers and began to build the Fraternity's reputation for excellence and impact—both in the business world and the civic realm.

In the latter part of the 20th century, Delta Sigma Pi saw the increasing role of women in the business world as a valuable social change. In 1975, Delta Sigma Pi officially became the nation's first co-ed business fraternity—a clear reflection of the heritage of inclusion on which Delta Sigma Pi was founded. Our Fraternity welcomes business majors of all backgrounds, regardless of race, gender, lifestyle, or creed, and Delta Sigma Pi is well known as an incredibly diverse organization.

Delta Sigma Pi continues to innovate, always growing in how we serve our members, our communities, and the business world. As the nation's foremost fraternity for business majors and professionals, we partner with our members for life, building the relationships, skills, and ideals necessary for them to make a significant impact wherever life leads.

ABOUT ZETA PI

The Zeta Pi Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi was founded as the first Professional Fraternity at Saint Joseph's University in 1965 and was later reinstated in 2003. Since our founding, we have initiated over 1,000 undergraduate students and faculty members of the Haub School of Business. Our brothers represent all of the majors in our business school and most proceed to find a full-time position post-graduation in their desired field.

In addition, we pride ourselves on the involvement our brothers have both on and off campus. Through their commitment and dedication, the brothers of the Zeta Pi Chapter continue to support our tradition of excellence in academics, social activity, and community service.
